The Dwaram legacy

Learning begins at home

He belongs to a family synonymous with South Indian classical music. His grandfather, Padma Shri and Sangita Kalanidhi Prof. Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu, remains one of the most revered violinists of the Carnatic tradition.

His parents and first gurus—Acharya Dwaram Bhavanarayana Rao and Vidushi Dwaram Venkata Varadamma—gave him a foundation in musical discipline, sensitivity and service.

  • Carnatic guidance: M.L. Vasanthakumari, D.K. Jayaraman, T.R. Subramaniam and Nedunuri Krishnamurthy.
  • Hindustani music: training under J.V.S. Rao.
  • Mridangam: K. Veerabhadra Rao, Ch. Krishnamurthy and Mullapudi Ramamurthy.
