Dr. Dwaram Venkata Krishna Ganesha Tyagaraj
Dr. Tyagaraj is a Carnatic vocalist, composer, researcher and music educator with more than three decades of service in institutions under India’s Ministry of Education. He serves as PRT–Music at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya INS Kalinga, Bheemunipatnam, in the Hyderabad Region.
His professional life bridges performance and pedagogy. On the concert and broadcast stage he is known for classical, devotional and light music. In education, he has built an inclusive practice that uses music to nurture confidence, creativity, discipline and cultural understanding.
His doctorate, writing, compositions, public broadcasts and student mentoring form a single body of work: keeping a rich tradition alive by making it meaningful to the next generation.
The Dwaram legacy
Learning begins at home
He belongs to a family synonymous with South Indian classical music. His grandfather, Padma Shri and Sangita Kalanidhi Prof. Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu, remains one of the most revered violinists of the Carnatic tradition.
His parents and first gurus—Acharya Dwaram Bhavanarayana Rao and Vidushi Dwaram Venkata Varadamma—gave him a foundation in musical discipline, sensitivity and service.
